**BEFORE THE PHOTO: ** Growing up with parents who both played instruments, Kevin Garrett was surrounded by music from day one. He began playing the violin at age four, later teaching himself to play guitar and beginning to write his own songs. After high school, he left Pittsburgh to study music technology at NYU, opening up a world of music and creativity.
