I guess my best advice is always to try to involve yourself into anything you could. Can you intern somewhere? Could you lend a helping hand? How could you be part of something that you love? Especially with fashion, there's a lot of opportunities I believe. Ask yourself, "Oh I could help dress that show," or, "I could help a friend that's making their own clothes." I mean, when I was a student, I did like everything that I could. Like, I helped sew someone else's clothes, I modeled in someone's something, I helped dress at some place, I helped do PR, I helped with whatever that was available that someone needed in any realm of fashion, I was there. And I wasn't too good to, or too snobby to, or too like, "well, I only want to design," or, "I only wanna do something that's only creative." It's like, I was excited though.
