It was a few years ago. I was dating someone who was a successful musician. I was really stuck creatively, and this person was not very encouraging to me and was kind of like an egomaniac. I was really struggling to find my own voice, and at one point he was just sort of like, "Well, maybe this is like not for you. Maybe you should try to do something else." At the time it just hurt so much. He was just such a toxic person, and I didn't realize it at the time, because I really loved him.
