What if, instead, you could pop on something aboutthe history of colonizationthe challenges of workplace hierarchies, orsocialistfeminism? I spent this summer standing outside talking to strangers as a fellow for NextGen America, a progressive organization dedicated to registering young voters and getting them to the polls through grassroots, face-to-face conversations. Every day, my team and I connected with young people at festivals, breweries, town squares, and their front doors to ask about the issues they face and how we can fix them together. In the fall, NextGen will be on almost every college campus in Pennsylvania, registering students to vote, hosting fun events, and making our #youthvote hashtag go viral. that sometimes people can mistake positivity for being “fake.” That was really insightful. Are there any other misconceptions about you that you’d like to debunk?DC: In my view, what set O'Rourke apart from Cruz was his willingness to engage and connect with voters to better understand the lived experiences of Black, brown, and other minority residents in the Lone Star State.
